The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

Just finished The Sorceress, the third book in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, the other day and it was yet another amazingly fast paced story by Michael Scott that stimulated the imagination and pulled me into a different world.

The story involves all sorts of wonderful fantasy elements and does a great job of bringing in some facts about the real world to enhance the appeal. In this way, the series is somewhat similar to what I would imagine a book would be like if we were to blend the styles of Rick Riordan (author of the very fun Percy Jackson series, http://www.rickriordan.com/) and Dan Brown (Angels & Demons, Deception Point, the Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, The Lost Symbol, http://www.danbrown.com/). There are wonderful humorous parts and the books are geared in a way as a younger audience can enjoy (YA) but with the type of flow that Dan Brown practices. This book, just like the others, ended on a cliff hanger and I impatiently await when the next book will come out. As things stand now, there are to be six books in the series:

1. The Alchemyst: The Secrets Of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

2. The Magician: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

3. The Sorceress: The Secrets Of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

4. The Necromancer: The Secrets Of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

5. The Warlock: The Secrets Of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

6. The Enchantress: The Secrets Of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
