Participatory Books: Check out Mark Fearing's Response to my essay

Take a look at this great post by Mark Fearing (an awesome illustrator/story creator who has been the subject of a post or two here): http://mfearing.wordpress.com/2010/06/09/great-post-about-picture-books/#comment-2717

Mark was kind enough to mention the essay I had posted here a little while ago and share some of his own insightful thoughts about the participatory dimensions of the picture book . . . about how it is truly an experience for children to read a picture book or have one read aloud to them.

Also, be sure to check out The Book That Eats People by John Perry and illustrated by Mark Fearing (I talk about this book in my essay). But be careful!
